Stay on a first class train in Rogart in the heart of the Highlands halfway between Inverness and John O’Groats.
The three railway carriages have been tastefully converted, with many original features.
Two sleep 8, one is subdivided to sleep 4 and 2. There are two beds per room, and a kitchen, dining room, sitting room, showers and toilets.
They are heated and non-smoking.
All bedding is included.
We also have a cosy showman’s wagon which sleeps two. Four trains per day in each direction serve this small crofting community which has a shop, post office and pub with restaurant. Glenmorangie and Clynelish distilleries, Dunrobin Castle and Helmsdale’s Heritage Centre are easy to reach by train or car.
See the silver salmon leap at Lairg and the seabirds and seals in Loch Fleet.
Or just enjoy the peace of Rogart.
The climate is good and the midges are less prevalent than in the west! Families welcome.
