Valentia Island is a sub-tropical island situated off the Kerry coast it is reached by bridge from Portmagee on the mainland or by a car ferry which runs every 10 minutes. On the island you can find abundant places to explore such as the rugged cliffs of Fogher, Foilhameron, and Bray Head. The famous Blasket Islands, Beginish with its beautiful silver sands, Skelligs Rocks and Church Island can be reached by motor boats which operate daily.
The Skelligs Rocks were inhabited by monks in the 5th and 6th centuries and the beehive dwellings still remain preserved.
