Prosen Hostel

Scottish Hostels, Bunkhouses and Camping Barns

Glenprosen is the most intimate of the Angus Glens on the southernmost edge of the Cairngorm National Park.

Two Munros, the Mayar and Driesh, link Glenprosen to the Cairngorms plateau.

The Minister’s Path leads over to Glen Clova, whilst a new footbridge and path along the prettiest stretch of the river Prosen connects to Glenisla and the Cateran Trail in Perthshire.

Prosen Hostel was recently converted from an old school to provide accommodation for those using the upgraded East Cairngorms footpath network.

Converted to the latest and greenest specification, the living room has a wood burning stove, internet connection, and raised area for admiring the view (& red squirrels) through the school’s huge windows.

A drying room and laundry facilities complete the cosy welcome.

It sleeps a total of 18 in 4 bunkrooms, sleeping 4, 4 & 6 and a family room sleeping 4.

The nearby village hall is available to rent for ceilidhs, music sessions, parties and celebrations.

STB 4 star.
