Wern Watkin Bunkhouse is located in the Brecon Beacons National Park, high up on Mynnedd Llangattock.
It is also known as YHA Llangattock Mountain.
There is direct access on foot to the mountainside and a flat mountain road to a National Cycle Route.
The Bunkhouse is a converted stone barn with bunks for 30 people in 7 mainly en-suite bedrooms.
The massive dining room and seating area opens out onto ancient woodlands.
There is under-floor heating throughout, excellent drying facilities and ample hot water.
The location is ideal for caving, rock climbing, canoeing, abseiling, orienteering, pony trekking and mountain biking.
Outdoor pursuit training can be arranged from local qualified instructors.
The bunkhouse is within easy walking distance of Llangattock cave complex (one of Europe’s most elaborate cave systems) as well as climbing crags and open moorland.
A short drive away are the rest of Brecon Beacons, the scenic Wye and Usk river valleys and a wealth of industrial heritage at the World Heritage site of Blaenavon.
Catering can be provided for groups.
